Sustainability Commitment

At The Hidden Gazebo Eatery, we are proud to integrate sustainability, community empowerment, and social impact into every aspect of our business. Through intentional practices in sourcing, operations, and programming, we actively contribute to 11 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From promoting gender equality and reducing inequalities, to supporting local farmers, fostering healthy communities, and building partnerships that strengthen peace and collaboration, our work demonstrates how a small, women-owned business can make a meaningful difference locally while advancing global goals.

North Africa - Egypt

Our environmental sustainability, social impact, and community empowerment are the cornerstones of our mission. As a North African women–owned business, we actively advance gender equality (SDG 5) and reduce inequalities (SDG 10) by creating inclusive opportunities, mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, and amplifying underrepresented voices in the culinary and hospitality industries.

Farm-to-Tabel

Environmental sustainability is central to everything we do, and we intentionally integrate practices that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We follow a farm-to-table approach, sourcing ingredients from local farmers to reduce carbon emissions, support small businesses, and strengthen our community (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth). We also grow our own organic microgreens and produce, ensuring fresh, nutrient-rich ingredients while promoting sustainable agriculture and reducing reliance on industrial farming (SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 15: Life on Land).

Recycle, Share and Give

All leftovers are thoughtfully composted, recycled, or donated to local charities, helping to combat food waste, support community nutrition, and promote responsible resource use (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 2: Zero Hunger). Even our plates are rescued from thrift stores, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and celebrating diversity — every plate is unique, just like the community we serve. By prioritizing seasonal, locally sourced, and organic ingredients, we reduce environmental impact, foster biodiversity, and encourage a culture of sustainability within our community.

Get to Know Us

Beyond food, we host cooking classes, healthy cooking workshops, and community events designed to educate, inspire, and build connections. These gatherings strengthen peace, foster collaboration, and create meaningful partnerships (SDG 16 & 17), bringing together people from all backgrounds to share culture, heritage, and ideas. Every meal, workshop, and event at The Hidden Gazebo Eatery is designed to do more than satisfy hunger — it feeds the soul, uplifts the community, and promotes a healthier, more equitable, and environmentally conscious world (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action).

We are committed to proving that hospitality, sustainability, and social impact can thrive together — nourishing both the body and the planet while empowering communities to embrace a future of equity, health, and cultural connection.
